Sundry sights

This is more or less a collection of snaps which I think interesting, but not enough to put in a free standing post.  (I have also added a few bits and pieces to the August Music Post.)

The first few images are of Como: I was first aware of this place when I drove my VW from Adelaide to Melbourne in 1970, delivering a friend to the Airport.  The only tourist attraction we could find mentioned was this place, which didn't appeal to us.  I can't remember how we filled in the first day, but do remember the drive home, due to snow starting at Bacchus Marsh and finishing about Horsham.  I refueled at Bordertown, with snow still on the front of the car: the guy who pumped the fuel (they still did it then) said he'd never seen snow so thought he'd drive for a look when he knocked off in the afternoon (only 150 kms).

Two pine trees: the pencil pine is probably a Cook Pine and the other possibly Bunya Pine.
A couple of T'rak bungalows.

This one dated from 1913 and had some interesting garden design (as well as the chess set).
Moving along, couple of days later we noticed the old Prahran Fire Station.
An extract from the above.
A sample of street art - I'm pretty sure by Tom Gerrard, who also does stuff on canvas.
The first time I have seen the words 'Goat' and 'Hygiene' juxtaposed!
On the evening of the 16th I went for a very enjoyable Trivia Night at the Lake Albert Yacht Club, raising funds for Lake Alive. I took these views of cranes reflected in the Lake during a break in proceedings.

We won!  And I have the bottle of red to prove it!
